I was born in Cape Town, South Africa, where I grew up and spent most of my life. I studied Fine Art (painting, printmaking, photography & History of Art) at Cape Technicon, and ran my own private art school for ten years. I moved to England in 2000 with my two children where I have been living and working ever since. I taught computer graphics (Photoshop, Quark Express, CAD, Flash, Dreamweaver and 3D Studio Max) at Reading School of Art & Design (now Thames Valley University) for three years. I then worked as a visual merchandiser for a large retail store for two years but decided to go back into full-time study at the University of Reading where I completed a BA Degree in English Literature in 2009. Whilst studying, I spent 8 months working at South Hill Park Arts Centre in Bracknell, as an exhibitions intern, which I loved. I have also written two books (as yet unpublished!) since graduating. I love people and enjoy painting them. The pictures here are a sample of those I have been commissioned to paint and draw. As you can see, my work is highly stylised with a strong graphic and decorative character, so if you want a traditional, photographic rendition, I'm probably not going to be your artist of choice.
